    Charles S. Jones

    Chairman

    Mr. Jones has spent much of his career as an operating executive for a wide range of large, public international companies and small, growth-driven private companies based in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Mr. Jones has a reputation for innovation and customer-centric growth strategies. He was Global Chief Operating Officer of London-based Shandwick plc, which during his tenure became the largest public relations firm in the world. Before becoming Managing Partner of Bedford Funding, Mr. Jones was Chairman and then CEO of Markham, Ontario-based Geac Computer Corporation, a Toronto Stock Exchange-listed software company with annual revenues approaching U.S. $500 million. During Mr. Jones’s tenure, he transformed the Geac business with two large public-company acquisitions, and built an innovative and market-leading business intelligence software enterprise, focused on the financial value chain. On October 1, 2001, the Wall Street Journal named Geac the number one performing global stock. In 2004, Mr. Jones was named on the top 10 list of CEOs in Canada and, in 2005, on the top 25 list of CEOs in Canada by Canada’s National Post newspaper.

    Rich Berner

    Chief Executive Officer

    Rich Berner currently serves as a board member and Chief Executive Officer of MDLIVE. As CEO, Rich guides company direction to help our clients and our clinicians improve the quality of life and healthcare experience of the populations we manage through the innovative use of technology to provide proactive, predictive, cost effective virtual health management and care on the consumers’ terms.

    Rich brings over 20 years experience building award winning teams and products across a variety of business to business and business to consumer industries that have helped his clients leapfrog their competition resulting in significant top-line growth for his companies while also maximizing operating earnings in established and emerging markets. Rich has spent the last 13+ years in healthcare focused on helping governments and providers around the world utilize technology to improve the health of the populations they manage while reducing costs.

    Rich joined MDLIVE from Allscripts where he served in various executive roles including President, International & Acute, SVP Health Systems and Hospitals. Most recently Rich was responsible for the worldwide solution strategy for Allscripts’ health systems and population health business, which generates over $1B in revenue. Under Rich’s leadership, Allscripts’ Sunrise EMR was named the KLAS #1 Global EMR and the #1 EMR for Academic Medical Centers and Large hospitals by Black Book in 2014-2016. His clients have driven material improvements in outcomes resulting in numerous industry awards and accolades for their accomplishments.

    Previously, Rich served as Senior Vice President at Caradigm, a Microsoft/GE joint venture where he led the client organization. He also served in a number of executive roles at Cerner Corporation, helping clients drive outcomes. Most recently, he led a number of Cerner’s agile business units and launched emerging businesses. He also led Cerner’s Middle East and Africa operations from Dubai and served as Vice President and General Manager for Cerner’s academic and children’s hospital clients.

    Before joining Cerner, Rich was a partner at TechEmpower, a strategy consulting and custom software developer. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer for FreeDrive, where he helped pioneer the online storage space, after beginning his career as a software engineer at Tellabs, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Internal and External Communications Inc.

    Rich graduated as an Evans Scholar from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Teaching of Computer Science.

    Lyle Berkowitz

    Chief Medical Officer, EVP Product Strategy and President MDLIVE Medical Group

    Lyle Berkowitz, MD, FACP, FHIMSS is a primary care physician, a digital healthcare innovator and a health tech entrepreneur. He has a long history of intersecting clinical, information technology and innovation responsibilities with executive management, business and entrepreneurial roles. For much of the past 20 years, Dr. Berkowitz has helped lead IT and Innovation at Northwestern Medicine, a top 15 healthcare system with annual revenue of over $5 billion dollars. He has additionally helped start and manage several healthcare IT companies in that time frame, and current sits on the boards of healthfinch, Oneview Healthcare, and Intelligent Locations. He additionally serves on the Advisory Boards of the Innovation Learning Network (ILN) and the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS), is a member of the Editorial Board for Clinical Innovation + Technology, and is the author of Innovation with Information Technologies in Healthcare. He has been listed as one of HealthLeader’s “Twenty People Who Make Healthcare Better”; Healthspottr’s “Future Health Top 100”, and Modern Healthcare’s “Top 25 Clinical Informaticists”. He graduated with a Biomedical Engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He has been elected to Fellowship in both the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

    Kristin Cain

    Vice President, Professional Services

    Kristin has been with MDLIVE for nearly 4 years and she is responsible leading the Professional Services Organization both strategically and operationally. She is focused on excellence in implementations and consulting services that deliver on MDLIVE’s commitment to be the highest quality, largest provider of virtual health management and care, recognized for world class consumer and clinician experience. In her role, Kristin most enjoys working with our clients to identify the best opportunities to leverage virtual care programs, developing technical solutions and strategies that will ensure long term success and leading a team that is motivated, dedicated and talented. Prior to joining MDLIVE in 2015, Kristin was the Director of Professional Services at CareCloud where she focused on Professional Services for customers implementing small scale EMR technology and prior to that Kristin was the Practice Administrator for a group of  psychiatrists and psychologists in South Texas. Kristin has over 15 years of experience in: Healthcare Administration, Technology, Program and Project Management and she has certification as Project Management Professional.

    Leslie Courtney

    Executive Vice President, Client Success & Account Management

    Leslie Courtney has nearly 20 years of experience in health care serving in senior management roles across multiple leading organizations.  Currently, serving as Senior Vice President of Client Success and Account Management of Sunrise, Florida based MDLIVE, Leslie leads the organization’s health plan and employer verticals.  She earned her Bachelor of Science from Eastern Nazarene College; and her Masters of Science in Health Promotion and Wellness Management from Springfield College.

    She spent nearly 10 years in the worksite wellness industry in service delivery, account management and operations with both Johnson & Johnson HCS and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI.  In these roles, Leslie helped increase the footprint of worksite wellness through private sector corporate initiative and channel development.  Leslie continued her healthcare work after departing BCBSRI becoming the top sales revenue generator at IncentOne in 2007 as well as tripling total company revenue in her first 2 years as the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Consumer’s Medical Resource in 2011.  Leslie has spoken at several national healthcare conferences including National Business Group on Health, World Congress and Employee Benefit News.  Her leadership skills and well respected knowledge of the healthcare industry have made her a highly sought after leader in growing organizations.

    Michael Farrell

    Senior Vice President & General Manager, Hospitals and Health Systems Business

    Mr. Farrell joined Cerner in 2006 as a client executive focused on business development in the northeastern region of the U.S. He held various leadership roles at the company, including national sales manager, director of sales, senior director and most recently vice president of business development. Mr. Farrell helped grow Cerner’s business in hospitals and health systems of all sizes. As a founding member of Cerner CommunityWorks, Mr. Farrell helped the cloud-based healthcare services platform become one of the fastest growing lines of business within the company.

    Mr. Farrell is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and has a Bachelor of Arts in business. He has also completed his Masters of Business Administration from Park University.

    Paul Goldman

    Chief Compliance Officer

    Paul Goldman, MBA, CHC, CHPC is a senior Executive with over 40 years’ experience in managing and motivating staff. He has C-Suite experience in creating/managing corporate areas of Executive Management, Compliance, Strategic Planning, Financial Analysis and P&L management. He is highly adept in identifying gaps and/or risk exposure in operations as well as developing and implementing strong systems of corporate checks-and-balances. He has strong listening, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills as well as a keen sense of bottom-line profitability.

    Chuck Hector

    Chief Revenue Officer

    Chuck Hector joined MDLIVE in February of 2011 as Chief Revenue Officer and brings more than 25 years of experience in member health benefits, serving in multiple corporate development and sales leadership roles. Prior to MDLIVE, he was Chief Business Officer at Computerized Screening, Inc., the first manufacturer of self-service health monitoring kiosks in the U.S. Chuck’s previous experience also includes roles as Senior Vice President of Sales at IncentOne, Vice President of Global Sales at ComPsych Corporation, Director of Sales and Marketing at VMC Behavioral Healthcare Services, and various leadership roles at science and medical publisher Reed Elsevier. Chuck earned a BA in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

    Malvika Jethmalani

    Chief People Officer

    Malvika possesses 10+ years of progressive human resources experience in the consulting, technology, industrial and consumer goods industries.

    Malvika brings to MDLIVE, Inc. a high level of strategic acuity, operational know-how and an entrepreneurial mindset. Most recently, she served as the Vice President Global Human Resources at Flavors Holdings Inc., a food ingredients company, where she oversaw the HR function for an organization of 600 employees across 21 countries. Prior to Flavors Holdings Inc., Malvika held key HR and Talent leadership roles at Danaher Corporation and at CareerBuilder.com.

    In these roles, Malvika helped various businesses position themselves successfully for growth by building organizational and leadership capabilities, driving engagement and culture initiatives and developing and executing strategies to attract and retain top talent. Malvika has gained experience in M&A, both on the buy and sell side, and has also led complex organizations in public as well as private companies.

    Malvika earned her Bachelor in Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She speaks English, Hindi and conversational French. Malvika was born and raised in Mumbai, India and enjoys travel, reading, working on her French and spending time with family and friends in her free time.

    Dan Monahan

    Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

    He brings over 20 years of finance and business experience to the role, including experience in a variety of ownership structures like joint venture, co-op, pre-IPO and public.  He leads all aspects of finance, accounting, treasury, tax, revenue cycle management and analytics as well as the operational aspects of the company, including oversight of the company’s Call Center operations and its Professional Services business.

    Most recently, Dan was the CFO and SVP of Operations for the Imaging business within Change Healthcare (formerly McKesson) spanning multiple countries including the US, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and Israel.  In this role, he helped drive growth in both top and bottom line through financial partnership as well as key operational functions such as sales operations, continuous improvement and logistics.  He has led global teams, primarily focused in the software and high-tech sectors. Dan has experience leading IPO readiness for a high growth software company, and he also served on the Board of Directors for McKesson Federal Credit Union. Prior to McKesson, he held several key financial and operational leadership roles, adding progressively more responsibility, with Sprint, Nortel Networks, SITA, CDC Software and EMS Technologies.  His strength has been in creating business value by driving a results-oriented environment supported by best-in-class Finance teams and identifying key elements of operations to help drive better business decision-making.

    Dan earned his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Notre Dame. He will be based in MDLIVE’s Chicago, IL office and enjoys spending time with his wife and college-bound identical twin girls.

    Dr. Deborah Mulligan

    Chief Medical Affairs Officer

    Dr. Mulligan joined MDLIVE in January of 2011 as Chief Medical Affairs Officer and also serves on MDLIVE Medical Group’s Board of Directors, bringing with her an accomplished background in pediatric emergency medicine and healthcare leadership. In addition to her work with MDLIVE, she is the Founder and Director of the Institute for Child Health Policy at Nova Southeastern University. Her previous experience includes the role of Pediatric Services Medical Director for nation’s 4th largest safety net hospital system. She has received numerous awards and honors for her academic and leadership roles, including recognition in the Congressional Record ‘National EMSC Heroes Award for Innovation’, and the Florida ‘Community Engagement Educator Award’, presented by First Lady Michelle Obama. Dr. Mulligan is a tri-lingual, practicing physician board-certified in pediatrics and emergency medicine, receiving her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

    Senior Vice President, Marketing

    Michelle has over 15 years in demand generation, content marketing and delivering growth strategies for member engagement and utilization.

    Before joining MDLIVE, she achieved a string of firsts that led to growth and increased profitability for health and consumer-related Fortune 500 companies including Aetna, Kaiser Permanente, Unilever and Coca-Cola. She launched Aetna’s first-ever mobile healthcare app for consumer and employer groups and championed an innovative use of television sponsorships to drive consumer preference for Abbott’s diabetes products. And she is an expert in partnership marketing, teaming up with AARP, Costco, MSNBC and others to expand both brands.

    Michelle earned an MBA in Marketing and Management Strategy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA in Economics from San Jose State University.

    A sought-after speaker who’s active on several nonprofit boards and committees, she has served as President of the National Black MBA Association’s San Francisco Chapter, and on the boards of the Kellogg Alumni Club and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. U.S. Representative Barbara Lee recognized Michelle for her community service activities.

    Michelle’s business and marketing expertise has been featured in USA Today, Self Magazine, the Dallas Business Journal, Healthcare 2.0, The Oak Park Journal, Glamour magazine and the San Francisco Business Journal.

    Justin Stone

    Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer

    Justin Stone is a Florida licensed attorney specializing in health care regulatory and corporate transaction law, with a particular focus on telemedicine. Prior to joining MDLIVE in March 2012, he was a member of the in-house legal team for Shands Hospital and MDVIP, Inc. before serving as the general counsel for Practice Communications LLC. Justin is accountable for managing MDLIVE’s Fortune 500 employers, commercial health plans, managed care plans, and large health systems contracts, and chairs MDLIVE’s regulatory review committee, which tracks federal and state regulations/legislation related to telemedicine. In addition, Justin serves on the board of directors for the Telehealth Association of Florida. Justin has a law degree in health law from the University of Florida.

    Nakort Valles brings more than 10 years of experience crafting highly scalable software. Prior to joining MDLIVE in November 2015, Nakort was co-founder of YACFirm, a consulting company specializing in bringing world class development to startup companies.
